When you bring a treasured item to Frame Today, it’s not just about a beautiful finish - it’s about preserving your memories for years to come. In this instalment of our “Meet Our Expert Framers” series, we introduce Meagan, whose eight year journey from photography student to master framer and Store Manager at our Mittagong store blends artistry, technical skill, and genuine care.
A Creative Path to Framing
Meagan’s framing career began almost by chance. While studying photography and Photoshop, she took on a retail role—and soon discovered a passion for picture framing. “I enjoyed the hands‑on creativity,” she recalls. When Frame Today opened in Mittagong, Meagan jumped at the chance to join. Today, her background in wedding and portrait photography informs every framing decision she makes:
“I see beyond the piece itself, choosing frames that transform artwork into true centrepieces.”

Crafting with Conservation and Creativity
Meagan’s favourite part of the job? Conservation framing that turns heirlooms into stunning displays. One standout project was a Turkish rug float‑framed using hand‑stitched techniques. By stitching discreetly along the rug’s pattern, she secured its weight without visible hardware - creating a seamless, statement-making piece for the customer’s home.
“Working with oversized items takes planning and patience. By mapping out every step, we ensure a flawless finish no matter how big or heavy the object.”
With her dual skills in modern framing technology and traditional hand tools, Meagan brings both speed and precision to every job - whether it’s fine art, memorabilia, or cherished family photographs.
Memorable Reactions and Personal Mementos
For Meagan, the best reward is a customer’s delight. “I love the look of joyful shock when they see their frame for the first time” she says. “They often tell me, ‘It looks so much better than I ever imagined.’”
At home, Meagan even framed personal mementos: a spanner to celebrate her son’s first year as an apprentice mechanic, and a broken chisel marking another son’s carpentry milestone. It’s about honouring stories she explains.
“Every item has meaning and deserves the right frame to show it off.”

Expert Framing Advice & Future Ambitions
Meagan’s top tip for anyone bringing in something precious:
“Use acid‑free matboards and UV‑protective, conservation‑grade glass. It’s the best way to stop fading and acid damage, and preserve memories for generations.”
She believes Frame Today stands out for our deep product knowledge and friendly, on‑site service. Looking ahead, Meagan is eager to deepen her expertise in conservation framing—and continue blending her passion for watercolour art and surface pattern design into her work.
If not a framer? “I’d still be teaching art” she laughs. Whether guiding students in her home studio or crafting custom frames, Meagan’s lifelong mission is the same; creating beautiful, lasting connections between people and their most treasured objects.
